in that the sun can find a slender gap ‘neath the storm’s hem and the ground where i am tiny and in that it happens rain and lightning and rainbows and happy children and damp hair and fearful thunder hearts all in one single tiny exploding instant on an insignificant thursday. in that there is such a thing as a thursday. in that we can share a storm, hands up who did. in that we have hands. in that the having of a body i have in common with the sun the moon the earth the you and every other thing and in that all our bodies are glory celestial. in the mattering of matter. in that thursday last, also insignificant, i wept and walked with ash bones, in agony loss and comprehension of my unique and infinite smallness. in that i have a heart that is a pump for blood, and in that i have a heart, and it breaks. in that in this moment i am incendiary with love directionless, caused, uncontainable, ecstatic. and in that in this moment i am aware that i am momentous and momentary. in that all of this is, in that, i am grateful.
